A copper alloy sestertius coin of Emperor Maximinus Thrax, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 235-238. The back of the coin depicts Salus, the female personification of health. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 236-238.
Obv: Draped, cuirassed and laureate bust of Maximinus Thrax, facing right. Obv inscription: MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG GERM. Rev: Salus, seated left, feeding a serpent rising from an altar. Rev inscription: SALVS AVGVSTI, SC in exergue.
