Coin, sestertius
A copper alloy sestertius coin of Emperor Severus Alexander, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 222-235. The back of the coin depicts the emperor. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 230.
Obv: Laureate bust of Severus Alexander, facing right, left shoulder draped. Obv inscription: IMP SEV ALEXANDER AVG. Rev: Severus, standing left, holding a globe in his right hand and a reversed spear in the left, his right foot is resting on a helmet. Rev inscription: VIRTVS AVGVSTI, SC in field.
