A silver denarius coin of Emperor Severus Alexander, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 222-235. The back of the coin depicts the emperor. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 228-231.
Obv: Laureate head of Severus Alexander, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP SEV ALEXAND AVG. Rev: Severus, in military dress, standing left, holding a globe in his right hand and a reversed spear in the left, and resting his right foot on a helmet. Rev inscription: VIRTVS AVG.
