Coin, denarius
A silver denarius coin of Emperor Severus Alexander, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 222-235. The back of the coin depicts Perpetuitas, the female personification of perpetuity or Securitas, the Roman goddess of security and stability. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 222-228.
Obv: Draped and laureate bust of Severus Alexander, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG. Rev: Providentia (or Securitas), standing left, holding a globe in her right hand and a transverse sceptre in the left, her left arm rests on a column. Rev inscription: PERPETVITATI AVG.
