Coin, sestertius
A copper alloy sestertius coin of Faustina the Younger, empress to Marcus Aurelius, AD 161-180. She was the daughter of Emperor Antoninus Pius, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 138-161 The back of the coin depicts a throne. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 157-164.
Obv: Draped and bare-headed bust of Faustina II, facing right. Obv inscription: FAVSTINA AVGVSTA. Rev: A throne (pulvinar), draped and ornamened, on which are two baby boys,seated vis-a-vis. Rev inscription: SAECVLI FE[LICIT], SC in field.
