A silver denarius coin issued by Emperor Commodus, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 177-192. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 180, to commemorate the death of his father, Marcus Aurelius, Emperor of the Roman Empire, AD 161-180.
Obv: Bare head of Marcus Aurelius, facing right. Obv inscription: DIVVS M ANTONINVS PIVS. Rev: An eagle standing right on a globe, head turned back to the left. Rev inscription: CONSECRATIO.
