Coin, denarius
A silver denarius coin of Emperor Antoninus Pius, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 138-161. The back of the coin depicts Tranquillitas, the female personification of tranquility and calmness. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 151-152.
Obv: Laureate head of Antoninus Pius, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP [CAES T AEL] HADR ANTONINVS AVG [PIVS PP]. Rev: Tranquillitas, standing right, resting her right hand on a rudder and holding two corn-ears in the left hand. Rev inscription: TR POT XV COS IIII, TRANQ in exergue.
