Coin, sestertius
A copper alloy sestertius coin of Emperor Antoninus Pius, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 138-161. The back of the coin depicts Libertas, the Roman goddess of liberty. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 153-154.
Obv: Laureate head of Antoninus Pius. Obv inscription: ANTONINVS AVG PIVS... . Rev: Libertas, standing left, holding a pileus in her extended right hand and a vertical sceptre in the left. Rev inscription: LIBERT[AS C]OS IIII, SC in field.
