Coin, sestertius
A copper alloy sestertius coin of Emperor Antoninus Pius, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 138-161. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 140-143.
Obv: Laureate head of Antoninus Pius, facing right. Obv inscription: [ANTONINVS A]VG PI[VS PP TR P COS III]. Rev: Antoninus, on left, standing right, holding a statuette in his left hand and clasping his right hand with that of his wife, Faustina, who stands to the right, facing left, holding a vertical sceptre in her left hand. In the foreground, two smaller figures, a male and female, are standing in a similar fashion, clasping their right hands over an altar. Rev inscription: CONCORDIA[E], SC in exergue.
