Coin, denarius
A silver denarius coin of Emperor Antoninus Pius, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 138-161. The back of the coin depicts Minerva, the Roman goddess of war, poetry, medicine, magic and crafts. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 138.
Obv: Laureate head of Antoninus Pius, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP T AEL CAES ANTONINVS. Rev: Minerva, standing left, holding Victory in her extended right hand and resting her left hand on a round shield, a spear rests against her left arm. Rev inscription: TRIB POT COS.
