A copper alloy sestertius coin of Emperor Hadrian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 117-138. The back of the coin depicts Roma, the female personification of Rome. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 119.
Obv: Laureate bust of Hadrian, facing right, left shoulder draped. Obv inscription: IMP CAESAR TRIANAVS HAD[RIANVS... . Rev: Roma, seated left on cuirass, holding Victory in her extended right hand and a vertical spear in the left, her left foot is set on a helmet. Rev inscription: PONT MAX TR POT COS III, SC in exergue.
