Coin, dupondius
A copper alloy dupondius coin of Emperor Trajan, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 98-117. The back of the coin depicts Roma, the female personification of Rome. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 104-111.
Obv: Radiate head of Trajan, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP CAES [NERVAE TRAIAN]O AVG GER DAC [PM TR P COS V PP]. Rev: Roma, seated left on a cuirass, holding Victory in her extended right hand and a vertical spear in the left, her right foot is set on a helmet. Rev inscription: SPQR OPTIMO [PRINCIPI], SC in exergue.
