Coin, denarius
A silver denarius coin of Emperor Trajan, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 98-117. The back of the coin depicts Virtus, the personification of courage and bravery. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 115-116.
Obv: Draped and laureate bust of Trajan, facing right. Obv inscription: [IMP CAES] NER TRAIANO OPTIMO AVG GER DAC. Rev: Virtus, standing right, holding a reversed, vertical spear in his right hand and a parazonium (dagger) in the left, his foot is resting on a helmet. Rev inscription: PM TR P COS VI PP SPQR.
