Coin, dupondius
A copper alloy dupondius coin of Emperor Domitian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 81-96. The back of the coin depicts Fides, the Roman goddess of trust. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 85.
Obv: Radiate bust of Domitian, facing right, with aegis. Obv inscription: IMP CAES DOMITIAN AVG GERM COS XI. Rev: Fides, standing left, holding corn-ears and a poppy in her left hand and a dish of fruit in the right. Rev inscription: FIDEI PVBLICAE, SC in field.
