Working History — 1820-1870
Spokeshave
This spokeshave forms part of a group of tools contained in a fine early 19th century toolchest. Many of the tools are marked 'W Gray'. The spokeshave has the owner's mark 'J Wilson' and was possibly not part of the original compliment of tools in the chest. A straight spokeshave was for finishing and cleaning especially rounded or circular work.
