Chatelaine
Chatelaines are decorative clasps used for carrying small and useful items, such as scissors and watches. They were usually worn by women in the 18th and 19th centuries. This example is made from gold and enamel, with a watch-key and two decorative tassels hanging from it. The top of the clasp has six loops attached to it, which would have been used for suspending items.
