Sword
Sword with straight single-edged blade, inscribed HOVN. ME FACIT. Lion-head pommel with deep coronet collar, ribbed wooden grip and broad shells coalescing with scrolled rear quillon and flat knuckle-bow screwed into pommel.
A 'hanger' sword, with double shell guard, cast brass pommel with traces of silvering, decorated with punchwork, cast in relief with a design in strap work and shells. Very characteristic standard Hounslow 'hanger', fluted wooden grip. Lion pommel cast in two halves. c. 1635.
