Shotgun, double barrelled sporting shotgun
This double-barrelled shotgun was made by the firm of the Birmingham gunmaker Joseph Needham. It was sold via Needham's shop at 26 Piccadilly in London. Birmingham was the major rival gunmaking centre to London, but its sporting guns lacked the capital's prestige. It was therefore common for Birmingham manufacturers to have retail outlets in the West End and to mark their guns 'London'.
