This advertisement for the Italian Sculptured Marble Company of north London is illustrated with examples of their marble funerary memorials. All their products were made in the Italian town of Carrera by skilled Italian sculptors. They used only Sicilian marble (Bianco Chiaro) which was said to be of higher quality than that which was more commonly used in English cemeteries. The company was active from around 1890 until 1930. Initially they held their stock at a depot in New North Road, with an office and showrooms in City Road. Around 1900 they moved to new premises in Kingsland Road where they remained until they ceased trading.
