H. E. Thompson
Copper-engraved billhead with handwritten invoice issued by H.E. Thompson, 'travelling equipage, tent and marquee maker' located at 116 Long Acre, Covent Garden. The billhead is engraved with the royal coat of arms in recognition of the firm's role as supplier to Queen Victoria and an image of a metallic tube bedstead manufactured by the firm 'for houses and travelling abroad'. Dated September 4th 1843 the invoice refers to the supply of a waterproof portmanteau.
