Billhead, invoice
Copper-engraved billhead with handwritten invoice issued by the linen draper Charles James located at the Nun and Anchor in Gerrards Street, St Anns. The billhead includes an engraving of the tradesman's sign showing a nun holding a cross standing before an anchor resting on its side. Dated 21st March 1755, the handwritten invoice refers to the supply of cloth to Mrs Hucks. The engraved script is in English round hand.
