Trade card, invoice
Copper-engraved trade card with handwritten invoice issued by the linen draper Arthur Jennings located at the Parrot in Cheapside at the corner of Newgate Street. The handwritten invoice dated June 3rd 1749 on the reverse of the card refers to an order for a number of goods including calico, lawn, linen and holland. The trade card includes an engraving of the tradesman's sign of a parrot on a branch within a decorative cartouche incorporating his name.
