Thomas Power Button Gilder
Copper-engraved billhead and handwritten invoice issued by the button gilder Thomas Power located at the Dove in Shoe Lane, Fleet Street. The billhead includes an engraving of the tradesman's sign of a flying dove. Dated May 25th 1755 the invoice refers to the supply of silvered coat buttons. Both the printed and handwritten script are in English round hand.
