A baluster measure with a carinated rim, flared base, flat lid with wedge attachment, hammerhead thumbpiece and a swept strap handle attached to the lower section of the body with a strut. The base is damaged and the vessel has been subjected to intense heat. The touch on the rim to the right of the handle depicts a fleur-de-lys flanked by the initials ‘W’ and ‘P’ with the date […]68 inside a circular border, the mark of William Pettiver I, London, [OP3641] who was free in 1655.
