Bone, pinner's bone
Pinner's bone. Bovine metatarsal, right side, fused. The lateral and medial sides at the distal end have been sawn off. There are four facets at the proximal end of the shaft with eleven deep grooves and file marks on the anterior, medial and lateral sides cut into the longitudinal axis by a saw. The foramen is large and there is an enlarged hole at the proximal end of the bone.
