Bone, pinner's bone
Pinner's bone. Bovine metatarsal, left side, fused. The lateral and medial sides at thedistal end have been sawn off. There are four facets at the proximal end of the shaft and there are five deep grooves cut into the longitudinal axis. The exterior surface has been completely worn through. There are file marks on every side. There is a small foramen, and an enlarged hole at the proximal end. The bone has copper salt staining.
