Post-Medieval — C.1650
Circular cased verge watch
The moving parts of this gold pocket watch were made and signed by Abraham Beckner, a watchmaker who may have been of German extraction. He worked in Pope's Head Alley in the City. The woman painted on the dial holds an anchor, and probably represents Hope.
