Passenger (Green Coat)
Sitting downstairs on a double-decker bus, a man stares out of the window ahead. He is identified only by his green coat as the artist conveys the anonymity of passers-by. The viewer can only speculate about the man's feelings; however, as this image was intended to form a series with other studies the artist made of traffic in the capital, it is possible that it portrays the frustration of being caught in jam.
According to Oliver Bevan,( born 1941) in his studies of traffic 'there is no narrative intended and the events shown are as much a mystery to me as they are to the spectator'.
