Anti-Lockdown Protest, Hyde Park
A man holds a sign that reads '77th Brigade Are Brainwashing the British People' at an anti-lockdown protest in Hyde Park on 16 May 2020. Approximately 100 protesters gathered that day to denounce the Covid-19 lockdown and use of vaccinations. At the time of the protest, the UK coronavirus death toll counted almost 36,000 victims. The 77th Brigade is the British army’s information warfare unit that was called in to help combat the spread of propaganda, conspiracy theories and coronavirus misinformation. The UK saw several anti-lockdown protests during the pandemic with thousands of people marching through central London in spring 2021.
