Ava, 15th October 2020

Ava sits quietly on the sofa in the living room at home, 15th October, 2020. After school Ava often does not leave her room all evening. Since lockdown, she has not felt comfortable leaving the house at all, and is currently seeing a councillor at school. Children from lower-income families are two-and-a-half times more likely to suffer from mental health issues, a statistic that has persisted throughout the pandemic. Ava and her mother Joanne are supported by Connecting All Communities.
