Rehema and Rayan, Connecting All Communities, 2020

Rehema and Rayan stand together outside their apartment on the the Pembury Estate in Hackney, 28th June, 2020. Rehema is a key worker and has to travel across London for her work with children with disabilities. She stays several nights at her workplace to limit the amount of time on public transportation to protect her family. She described lockdown as “suffocating” for her children and she worries about the weight they are gaining from lack of exercise. The family receive meals from Shukri Adan from Connecting All Communities throughout the week which helps whilst their mother, the chef of the family, is away at work.
