Bambridge on Trial for Murder by a Committee of the House of Commons
"Trial" of Thomas Bambridge in the Fleet Prison. He was its governor and was charged with extortion, barbarous and cruel treatment and other offences against prisoners. He was found guilty by a Parliamentary enquiry but a special Act of Parliament was required to dismiss him. The print shows prisoners in irons giving evidence.
