Coelum ipsum petimus stultitia
A giant exploding balloon, watched by a crowd. Satire on the bursting of Keegan's balloon in the garden of Foley House, Portland Place, while it was being filled. Sheldon's ascent therefore ended in disaster on 25th Sept. 1784.
