Secrets of the Thames & Time and Tide film screening
Join us for a special museum late event reflecting on the future of the foreshore.
Be the first to see this updated version of Paul Wyatt's powerful and beautiful Time and Tide: Steel, Grit and Glass and hear from the filmmaker in an insightful Q&A.
Dig deeper into the connections between people and place as you explore our landmark exhibition, Secrets of the Thames, and mix with mudlarks who will share their passion and experiences of a changing Thames foreshore.
This event is an exclusive last chance to see the Secrets of the Thames exhibition outside of normal opening hours.
Need to know
Beyond the royal landmarks of Greenwich lies a fading industrial shoreline. As steel and glass towers rise to replace the grit of the past, Time and Tide offers a captivating and thought-provoking exploration of landscape and identity.
Helping to unlock and preserve Greenwich's forgotten histories is Nicola White, a mudlark, artist and influencer whose YouTube explorations have attracted over 20 million views. Through her discovery of riverbed artefacts – ranging from a 1970s bracelet to a 17th-century skeleton – Nicola reconnects us to the voices from the past embedded in this industrial landscape.
This edit reflects the recent decision by Historic England to schedule the Enderby Wharf cable gear as a monument, making the screening particularly timely.
