Pop along and say hello to poet Laurie Bolger, who will be in Barts' shady courtyard ready for a chat.

Laurie is gathering voices, stories, snippets and thoughts to inspire a brand-new poem celebrating the hidden voices and quiet brilliance of the St Bartholomew's Hospital community, in partnership with Bart’s Heritage and Vital Arts.

This gentle drop-in is open to everyone – whether you work at Barts, are visiting, or just passing through.

Laurie Bolger

Laurie is an acclaimed English poet, stand-up and presenter based in London. She was shortlisted for Young Poet Laureate of London in 2014 and won the 2023 International Book & Pamphlet Competition.

You can find Unheard Voices of the City in the Wiggle Wonderland open-air gallery in St Bartholomew's Hospital Square, West Smithfield, EC1A 7BE.

You can reach the square via the main hospital entrance on King Edward Street and through the Henry VIII Gate on West Smithfield.

The nearest stations are Farringdon and Barbican.

Events are outdoors and visitors are advised to check the weather and dress appropriately. Events are subject to relocation or cancellation in the event of bad weather.

This free drop-in event is part of Unheard Voices of the City – a pop-up display co-created with POoR Collective in partnership with London Museum and Culture Mile Business Improvement District (BID) for the London Festival of Architecture, paying tribute to London’s night workers.
