Part of a series

Many objects are waiting to be discovered in the Thames. They can survive for centuries in the river as the water and mud keeps them from decaying.

Join us and add your own artwork to our collaborative foreshore for future mudlarks to find. Use light, shadows and invisible ink to create treasures that can only be discovered by those looking closely.

Need to know

Photography helps families understand what to expect at our events and shows funders the great work we do. As such, a museum photographer may be present to take pictures. No need to preen or pose, just play!

The museum is open every day 10am – 5pm.

If you have time, why not also visit our free galleries and get more in-depth with Docklands history? And don't forget that under-12s get free entry to our Secrets of the Thames exhibition with fascinating finds from our city's foreshore.

Our address is London Museum Docklands, No. 1 Warehouse, West India Quay, London E14 4AL. We're just a few minutes away from Canary Wharf and West India Quay.

Our building is accessible and we have lifts on every floor. If you need any help, please ask our friendly Hosts at the Information Desk when you arrive.

Check our need to know page to get the answers to all the frequently asked questions about visiting, facilities and accessibility.

Our family-friendly cafe is the perfect place to sit down and relax for a bite or tea break. We have lunch boxes for kids, sandwiches, pastries, snacks and a wide selection of hot and cold drinks.

You’ll also find our shop with a curated range of gifts and souvenirs, including posters, prints, toys, books and jewellery.

More about shopping, eating & drinking

Prams and buggies are welcome in the museum. However, due to our Secrets of the Thames exhibition, buggy parking is limited on the Ground Floor.
