Illustrator Eleni Tucker navigates London through a queer, working‑class immigrant lens, using art as a way to foster visibility, connection and community.

Drawing from everyday life, their practice centres on reportage drawing, capturing fleeting moments, quiet observations and the poetry of the city as it unfolds.

Through colour‑rich illustrations, sketchbooks and new works, Curiously Becoming becomes a room‑sized diary entry: an intimate glimpse into the life of a 23‑year‑old artist and the people, places and moments that spark curiosity.

Joy, intimacy and vulnerability sit at the heart of the exhibition, celebrating what is often overlooked in a busy city like London.

Eleni Tucker – known to most as Len or Leni – is an illustrator from south London, currently in their final year at Kingston School of Art.

At the heart of their practice is a love of reportage drawing. Capturing daily moments in their sketchbooks, from the mundane to the absurd, is their way of staying curious and observant.

Colour is central to how Eleni works and is used to capture a feeling, a time, or a story, and to find joy in everyday things. Curiously Becoming reflects this: the work on show is like a room-sized diary entry with a glimpse into their life and the things, people and moments they're drawn to.

As a queer, working-class immigrant, much of their work navigates London through that lens. Through their practice, Eleni wants to help others feel seen and heard – filling gaps in representation and creating spaces where people can connect and build community.
