Pamphlet entitled: The Ordinary of Newgate, His Account of the Behaviour, Confessions, and Dying Words of the Malefactors, who were executed at Tyburn on the 8th of this instant March 1731 being the second execution in the mayoralty of the Rt Hon Humphrey Parsons, Esq. Number II for the said year; London Printed & Sold by John Applebee in Bolt Court, near the Leg Tavern Fleet Street price 3d'
The 17 page printed document was authored by James Guthrie, the Ordinary of Newgate. It includes an account of the crimes, trials, confessions and execution of the following John Chappel aged 41 of St Leonard Shoreditch, born in London, who pleaded guilty to the murder of Sarah Martin; William Mayne aged 48 from St Mildred in Poultry - born in Canterbury and indicted for fraud;
George Wych, aged 18 Thomas Andrews aged 19, born in Worcestershire and William Williams aged 30 born in Yorkshire, indicted for assaulting James Webb in a certain field or open place near the Highway, putting him in fear of his life, and taking from him a silver watch and chain, a hat and 15 in money, and a dutch shilling and 5 keys.
