A paper label adhered to the reverse gives Arthur Barrett as the photographer, with "copyright photo" written above and "LIB6105" written below. The following caption is written underneath: "Scene in: The Women's Social and Political Union North Clements Inn, London WC2. Bow Street. Inspector Jarvis with assistant detective. Picture shows the arrest on 13 Oct 1908 of the leader Mrs Pankhurst, (Gen) Mrs Drummond and Miss Pankhurst who had evaded arrest after a 'heavy raid' on the house".
