Printed Ephemera — 1910-07-23
Postcard, photographic postcard
Suffragette Procession, 23rd July 1910. In the centre of the postcard are Suffragettes representing North Islington, carrying a placard marked 'North Islington Women Demand the Vote' This procession, organised by the Women's Social and Political Union and Women's Freedom league in support of the Conciliation Bill, involved two processions through central London culminating in a rally in Hyde Park. If passed the Conciliation bill would have given the vote to women who occupied premises for which they were responsible. This was one of several processions organised during the Summer of 1910 in support of the Bill.
This was one in a series of 4 postcards relating to the procession on 23rd July issued by H. Searjeant that could be obtained individually for 2d or supplied to WSPU branch shops for 1/6d a dozen.
