Printed Ephemera — 1906
City Bye-election, 1906
Photographic postcard depicting four Suffragettes including Flora Drummond and Annie Kenney posing with a Votes for Women banner. The occasion refers to the City of London bye-election in February 1906 where Suffragettes campaigned to urge voters to vote against the conservative candidate, Mr Gibson Bowles due to his opposition to women's suffrage. Campaigning at bye-elections against MPs who opposed female suffrage was a key tactic of the Women's Social and Political Union.
