Printed Ephemera — 1922
Telegram
Letter from a collection of at least 122 letters, press cuttings, articles by and relating to Helen Fraser. Telegram to Helen Fraser, from Lloyd George, congratulating her on being nominated as the first woman candidate for a constituency in Scotland. He says that her attributes will make her "not only an ideal member for Govan but a most valuable addition to parliament".
The telegram refers to Helen's adoption as National Libreral candidate for Glasgow (Govan) in the 1922 General Election. Unfortunately she was not successful in being elected for the constituency.
