A wooden pounce pot or sand dredger, carved from boxwood or fruitwood and comprising two parts. The main body is a hollow receptacle featuring a slightly flared neck with an internal thread, rounded body, and splayed foot. Into the neck of this screws a wide bowl with several perforations arranged in two concentric circles around a central hole. Light brown in colour, with glossy surfaces. There are many dark stains on the object, perhaps from ink. There is also a detachable lid or cover (see Z6127b).
