Hotels, Inns etc.: The main entrance to the Brunswick Hotel, Blackwall, shortly before demolition, in March, 1929.
The Blackwall Hotel and Tavern was built around 1833-34, though the Hotel business did not last very long. The tavern was very popular for whitebait suppers in the late 1840s. However, its reputation declined and by the 1920s it had become the offices of the shipbuilders, Green & Silley Weir. It was demolished in 1930.
