Starvation Buoys
The 'Starvation buoys' near Woolwich were well known to all Thames Sailing barge crews. The tiers of moorings were frequently lined with boats waiting for work. Desperate days could be spent here - hence the name. Photographed for E. Arnot Robertson's book 'Thames Portrait' (1937).
