See also A6044 which is similarly constructed cabinet and also decorated with story of Daphne and Apollo and other mythical scenes.
Condition: poor. Badly soiled and light damaged. The silk covering split and missing in places; the padded areas of the embroidery are particularly worn. Some of the metal thread has bronze disease. One of the three mirror panels in the fitted compartment is a replacement. One of the wooden feet is missing, as are the carrying handles. Damaged by woodworm.
