A. G Batt & Co., British Wharf, on the Surrey Canal. Note the stacks of cut softwood timber, a commodity imported into Surrey Docks and Canal.
The photograph is one of over a hundred images covering the wharves and waterside buildings along Surrey Canal. The photographs were found stuck into a large Port of London Authority notebook and are annotated throughout in handwritten ink. We think it likely that the photographs were taken by a PLA employee.
