Mr Kean as Othello
Theatrical portrait of the actor Mr Edmund Kean in the role of Othello. His performance as Othello at the Drury Lane theatre was one of the roles that demonstrated his abilities as a tragic actor.
The engraving was published on December 1st, 1818 by William West. The print includes the message 'C Tomkins fet'. This refers to the engraver or artist, C. Tomkins who was thought to have been a theatre scenery painter.
