Trainee engine drivers are learning how to use a signal box at the Kentish Town Motive Power Works Department. The Motive Power Works at Kentish town were the second largest in London. Often known as 'The Sheds' by workers there were facilities for refueling, repairs, supplying water, cleaning and a training centre for new train drivers.
