Sitting on the steps of Eros
Sitting on the steps of the memorial fountain in Piccadilly Circus in September 1973. The fountain was built to commemorate Lord Shaftesbury and although usually mistaken for a statue of Eros the God of unrequited love, the fountain is actually topped by Alfred Gilbert's statue of Anteros, the God of Requited Love. Ever since its creation in 1893 the steps of the fountain have been a popular place for people to meet before enjoying the attractions of London.
